Frequently asked questions

Know what changes.
Know what stays.

A simpler website should come with clear answers.

Will my website look the same?

We aim to preserve the design and content you rely on. Complex effects and unavailable assets may need adjustments. You approve a preview before launch; we do not promise universal pixel-for-pixel results.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

We preserve eligible URLs, metadata and internal links, and verify agreed redirects. Rankings depend on many factors and cannot be guaranteed.

What happens to my contact forms?

We identify forms during review and agree on a supported replacement or integration. Forms must pass submission and delivery checks before launch. Third-party fees may remain.

Can I edit my website afterward?

You receive editable source and build instructions. We can scope a suitable editing workflow or provide changes as a separate service. A browser-based editor is not included by default.

What if I use WordPress?

Public informational content is a good starting point. Shopping carts, memberships and other dynamic features require closer review.

What if I use another CMS?

We can assess it, but automated migration support varies. We confirm the approach before offering a fixed quote.

What happens to my hosting?

You may keep suitable hosting or move to a supported static host. Hosting is scoped separately and is not guaranteed to be free.

Can I keep my domain?

Yes, subject to your access to its registrar and DNS. A migration changes website hosting, not ownership of your domain.

Will my business email continue working?

Website hosting and email are reviewed separately. We inventory mail records and preserve them during an approved DNS transition.

What if my website uses online booking?

An external booking service may remain as an embed or link. Server-based booking systems need a custom assessment.

Do I need to pay for maintenance?

There is no required Refresh subscription. Domains, hosting and third-party services may still cost money, and future updates or content changes may need work.

What happens if something breaks?

Your agreed launch support covers issues within the approved scope. Optional monitoring flags availability issues; repairs and response commitments depend on your service agreement.

Can I move my website somewhere else?

Yes. You receive the generated site and editable source. Any third-party accounts remain subject to their own terms.

What happens if I need changes later?

Use your source and documentation, work with another developer, or request a separate quote from Ashford.

Can I keep using my current website while the new one is prepared?

Yes. Preparation and review happen separately. We plan a controlled transition with a rollback option before touching production.
